Corinthians qualified for the AIL division 3 final playoff, without a ball even being kicked, after Midleton conceded the game as they travelled without a full front row. This was on a day in which the Corinthian committee honoured stalwart Jimmy Joyce for his work in setting up the underage section in the 70's. The juvenile changing area will now be called the Jimmy Joyce name in his honour. Corinthians and Midleton decided to go ahead and play a friendly with uncontested scrums which Corinthians won 29 - 14. This now means that the only team in the AIL division 3 that Corinthians haven't defeated is Old Wesley which Corinthians now go on to meet in the Final Play off. This time Corinthians will be looking to defeat them and to be crowned division 3 champions. The game takes place on May 9^th at 12.00 in Garryowen. Before this however, Corinthians will be playing in the Connacht Senior Cup taking place this Friday the 1^st of May in the Sportsground at 18.30 against Connemara.

Ard Na Cregg Final

The game kicked off at 5.30pm with Corinthians playing into a strong wind for the first half of a game that was to prove to be a 9 try scoring blitz for them. The opening score of the game came on the 14^th minute when Niall O' Shea got over for a try which went unconverted but was swiftly followed 3 minutes later by a try from Rory Dunleavy which was converted by Barry O' Dea. On the 28^th minute Kevin O' Flynn got over for what was to be the 1^st of his 3 tries on the day in which he played his last match for Corinthians. This try was successfully converted leaving the score at 19 - 0. Just minutes later a great off load by Barney Lally to Gareth O' Sullivan led to Corinthians 4^th try which took the score to 24 - 0 when the conversion was missed. On the approach to half time Kevin O' Flynn got over for his 2^nd try of the game and Corinthians 5^th which wasn't converted. Galwegians got their only score of the day a few minutes later at the end of the 1^st half when they got a try which was duly converted leaving the score at 29 - 7. 5 minutes into the second half saw O' Flynn completing his hat trick which Barry O' Dea converted leaving the score then at 36 - 7. Galwegians stepped up their game at this point and managed to contain Corinthians for the next 25 minute until Niall O' Shea went over for his second try bringing the score to 41 - 7. Minutes later Sean Ruaine got the 8^th Corinthian try of the day with the conversion by O' Dea bring the score to 48 - 7. The final score and 9^th Corinthian try of the day came just before the final whistle and was to be the second try for Gareth O' Sullivan. This completes the season for Corinthians thirds and adds to the trophy cabinet after the presentation of the Ard na Cregg trophy by the secretary of the Connacht branch Patrick Piggott to captain Ian Hutchinson.
